What caused the economic crisis.

This is a fast paced video with information regarding the current crisis. Please take the time to watch and learn. John McCain did try to avert this crisis in 2006 by speaking about the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005

I join as a co-sponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.

This was 2006! What happened to the bill? Never made it out of committee, taken down by the Democrats, some of whom were in the process of receiving deals of their own. The top 3 people who received political money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were all Democrats....the #2 guy was Obama, only 4 years in the Senate and ahead of John Kerry.

(Pause any part of the video to read the information being presented...it does move fast)

Garden Update....We have vegetables!!

This is a McCain/Palin garden.....Republican all the way!!

Starting on the left of the garden, there is corn, blackeye peas, tomatoes with green beans on the end, okra, zipper peas, a row of cucumbers, green & yellow peppers, eggplant & squash, and then 3 rows of peanuts just for Kevin.

The leaves of the corn were being eaten by something but it kept growing and now we have several ears of corn growing.

Our green peppers are really starting to get big and look healthy.

We have quite a few tomatoes growing and very tiny okra on the plants.

Sarah Palin, The Villages Victory Rally

The Sarah Palin Rally in the Villages of Lady Lake, Florida was awesome! My daughter,Sarah and I arrived around 10:00 am knowing that in a short time thousands would also be arriving. We drove up Hwy 441 and came in the backway of the Marketsquare, found the parking area in a field near the Waterfront and took a bus where the rally was to be held. I have never been to the Marketsquare but it is very nice. We walked towards the square, scoping out where the entrance would be to get in for the rally & found there was already a short line, so we joined it.

We joined the line probably around 10:30 or so. We talked to people around us and people-watched....a lot of people watching. There was entertainment, a country band that played the whole time, jugglers, other musicians, and patriotic stilt walkers.

(Hey, campaign workers have to eat too)

About 12:30, they started letting the crowd into the barricaded rally area which you needed a ticket which I had gotten at a Republican office in Altamonte Springs on Saturday morning. First to go in were the campaign volunteers with the VIP badges, then the others (meaning us) were allowed to go in.

We had to go thru security & the metal detector and made our way to the front of the stage. We were about 6 people deep from the podium...not bad until you've been standing there in the sun with thousands of others.

(See the person in front leaning over the railing above...we were about 5 people right behind her. Notice the pink shirt someone is holding up behind her, look at the next photo..see the pink shirt, that's how close we were)

We talked to others around us, had 2 icees, water, water and more water that staff were handing out. Especially after people started passing out! Sarah almost gave up but she hung in there and I believe she was glad, in the end, that she did.

Not sure who this guy was but he was obviously the "guy in charge". He walked around giving directions and "talking in his sleeve" alot.

We and our rally neighbors got a kick out of this one woman that was making her way from the back, chatting it up with others, all the time eyeing where she was heading next. Next being closer to the podium! Her friend was behind us and my rally neighbors made sure she didn't move in the same direction. The lady eventually moved left of us but was still about 4 people from the front of the podium.

Eventually, several speakers made their way to the stage, giving short speeches. One was Bill McCollum, Florida Attorney General. Country singer, Aaron Tippin sang about 4 songs. We watched a plane pulling a banner that said "The South is Palin Country".

About 3:15 (yes, I did say 3:15) Sarah Palin was about to come out. About this time, I really started paying closer attention to how I was feeling inside and realizing the sun & heat was starting to take it's toll. If I didn't want to go down & get a visit from the folks in blue, I needed to get in the shade. People were looking up at the big screens on the side of the stage, yelling & clapping, and I knew they saw her. So, I told Sarah that I was not feeling well, and had to go to the back and she said she was staying. So glad she did!

I stood in the shade behind over a thousand or so people, next to the bar stand, sipping orange juice & ginger ale, that the bartender made for me. He already had seen 3 people pass out in front of him so he knew what I was going thru. I did get some photos and enjoyed the excitement of it all.

Now, inside the barracaded area were thousands, I don't know how many. when I made my way to the back, I looked at the other side of the barracade in the back towards the streets and the crowd was HUGE, every way you looked were people. It was amazing!

(To the left of the people above was a barricade which is where we were on the other side. Now, when I went to the back (towards this crowd), I took these next 2 photos of the massive crowd above, just from a different angle.)

Sarah eventually was able to move closer to the barricade and was able to see Willow, Piper, Todd and Trig. Piper talked about her trip to Walt Disney World and how much she enjoyed it. The baby eventually was taken out of the sun but everyone got to see him and how cute he is. When Todd was introduced, many in the crowd started shouting, "Dude, Dude, Dude...".

Now after about 10 minutes, still feeling "not well", I knew in a short while all these people would be leaving, heading to the buses and trying to leave the parking lot. So Sarah and I started making our way out thru the masses and able to get out on the road about 30 minutes later. Not bad! Other than being hot and tired, we were glad we went to see the next Vice-President!

(Other media photos....yes they were there in mass....)

Our visit to a Sarah Palin rally!

My daughter, Sarah, and I are leaving in the morning to travel to the Villages in Lady Lake, FL to a Sarah Palin rally. We're very excited! We're leaving early because the gates open at 1:30, she speaks around 3 or 3:30 and there is expected to be THOUSANDS of people there trying to get thru security.

I asked Sarah if she really wanted to go, that there would be thousands, plus standing with those thousands on a hot afternoon....and she said that she didn't care, she wanted to go see Sarah Palin.

So what's a loving Republican mom to do.....:)

Photos to follow.....maybe a few of those little Bo-BO followers.

Seen the true colors yet of Obama??

...and I don't mean race!

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I have some friends that are going thru a tough time right now....a life changing time, a soul searching time...one that could & would test any of us. It is my prayer that if any of you are reading this post right now and know of someone that is going thru some times such as these..please throw a thought their way..please say a prayer for them....God will hear it and will be with them in their time of need.

I pray for each of you and especially those that I know have special needs and concerns. You are much thought of and loved. God bless you all....

The Republican Fisherman

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a fishing boat below. She shouted to him, 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.'

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, 'You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 4909 minutes west longitude.'

She rolled her eyes and said, 'You must be a Republican.'

'I am,' replied the man. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' answered the balloonist, 'everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me.'

The man smiled and responded, 'You must be a Democrat.'

'I am,' replied the balloonist. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' said the man, 'you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault.'

Marriage.....according to kids

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY? (written by kids)

You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
-- Alan, age 10

No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with.
-- Kristen, age 10

WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then.
-- Camille, age 10

HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
-- Derrick, age 8

WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
- - Craig, age 9

WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that.
- - Curt, age 7

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
-- Anita, age 9(bless you child)

And the #1 Favorite is........
HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.
-- Ricky, age 10

Sarah Palin.....a pit bull in lipstick.....

About her experience: “I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities.”

About her reason for running for vice president: “I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone. But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”

About Sen. McCain: “Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election. In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.”

Piper Palin loves her little brother, Trig

I hope you watched the best speech last night of this whole campaign...including that other guy. Sarah Palin was absolutely awesome in her delivery, warm, funny, endearing, serious and to the point. Did you know her teleprompter quit working halfway thru the speech. You would have never known it given her poise.

The highlight for my family was watching the little snippets of Piper holding little Trig, the Palin's 4 month old baby, born with Down Syndrome. Piper was trying to get his hair to lay down flat and when she was having difficulties, what else can you do....but give it a little spit shine. Just precious!!

Enjoy!
