Our visit to a Sarah Palin rally!

My daughter, Sarah, and I are leaving in the morning to travel to the Villages in Lady Lake, FL to a Sarah Palin rally. We're very excited! We're leaving early because the gates open at 1:30, she speaks around 3 or 3:30 and there is expected to be THOUSANDS of people there trying to get thru security.

I asked Sarah if she really wanted to go, that there would be thousands, plus standing with those thousands on a hot afternoon....and she said that she didn't care, she wanted to go see Sarah Palin.

So what's a loving Republican mom to do.....:)

Photos to follow.....maybe a few of those little Bo-BO followers.

Seen the true colors yet of Obama??

...and I don't mean race!

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I have some friends that are going thru a tough time right now....a life changing time, a soul searching time...one that could & would test any of us. It is my prayer that if any of you are reading this post right now and know of someone that is going thru some times such as these..please throw a thought their way..please say a prayer for them....God will hear it and will be with them in their time of need.

I pray for each of you and especially those that I know have special needs and concerns. You are much thought of and loved. God bless you all....

The Republican Fisherman

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a fishing boat below. She shouted to him, 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.'

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, 'You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 4909 minutes west longitude.'

She rolled her eyes and said, 'You must be a Republican.'

'I am,' replied the man. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' answered the balloonist, 'everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me.'

The man smiled and responded, 'You must be a Democrat.'

'I am,' replied the balloonist. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' said the man, 'you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault.'

Marriage.....according to kids

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY? (written by kids)

You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
-- Alan, age 10

No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with.
-- Kristen, age 10

WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then.
-- Camille, age 10

HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
-- Derrick, age 8

WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
- - Craig, age 9

WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that.
- - Curt, age 7

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
-- Anita, age 9(bless you child)

And the #1 Favorite is........
HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.
-- Ricky, age 10

Sarah Palin.....a pit bull in lipstick.....

About her experience: “I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities.”

About her reason for running for vice president: “I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone. But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”

About Sen. McCain: “Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election. In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.”

Piper Palin loves her little brother, Trig

I hope you watched the best speech last night of this whole campaign...including that other guy. Sarah Palin was absolutely awesome in her delivery, warm, funny, endearing, serious and to the point. Did you know her teleprompter quit working halfway thru the speech. You would have never known it given her poise.

The highlight for my family was watching the little snippets of Piper holding little Trig, the Palin's 4 month old baby, born with Down Syndrome. Piper was trying to get his hair to lay down flat and when she was having difficulties, what else can you do....but give it a little spit shine. Just precious!!

Enjoy!

Emperor Obama

DENVER (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos’ National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington’s Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party’s nomination for president.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor......

The crowd will cheer, he will be thrown grapes & flowers. He'll raise his chin to the sky, the multitude chanting "Yes, We Can", the One says to himself..."Yes, I Am".

The Truthful Wife....

A police officer pulls over a speeding car. The officer says , 'I clocked you at 80 miles per hour, sir.'

The driver says, 'Gee, officer I had it on cruise control at 60, perhaps your radar gun needs calibrating.'

Not looking up from her knitting the wife says: 'Now don't be silly dear, you know that this car doesn't have cruise control.'

As the officer writes out the ticket, the driver looks over at his wife and growls, 'Can't you please keep your mouth shut for once?'

The wife smiles demurely and says, 'You should be thankful your radar detector went off when it did.'

As the officer makes out the second ticket for the illegal radar detector unit, the man glowers at his wife and says through clenched teeth, 'Darnit, woman, can't you keep your mouth shut'

The officer frowns and says, 'And I notice that you're not wearing your seat belt, sir. That's an automatic $75 fine.' The driver says, 'Yeah, well, you see officer, I had it on but took it off when you pulled me over so that I could get my license out of my back pocket.'

The wife says, 'Now, dear, you know very well that you didn' t have your seat belt on. You never wear your seat belt when you're driving.'

And as the police officer is writing out the third ticket the driver turns to his wife and barks, 'WHY DON'T YOU PLEASE SHUT UP??'

The officer looks over at the woman and asks, 'Does your husband always talk to you this way, Ma'am?'

I love this part....

'Only when he's been drinking.'

Tropical Storm Fay...and the garden

Well, here it is, what feels like weeks of rain and it's still raining. But I'm not complaining, really I'm not. Florida and our adjoining states needed the water for our lakes, lawns and crops. Our new garden didn't need quite this much water! I checked it out today between rain storms and it didn't look too bad. The little corn sprouts took a beating but I think with some sunshine they should perk right up. The tomato plants and the other taller plants did ok too. And what a surprise for Kevin...his peanuts finally sprouted. He's so excited!

Our yard looks like a hurricane hit it. We have leaves all over the place, not to mention twigs and larger limbs. What a mess to clean up!

We learned tonight that a sink hole opened up at the front of the neighborhood. Large enough that 2 trucks could fit into it. I believe last year in a subdivision nearby that 3 sink holes opened up...that's what happens when you have this much water. I'll try to get a photo and post it.

Laura was under a tornado warning in Jacksonville and one did touch down at the Town Center a few miles from her home, close to UNF. Sometimes it's tough to have her so far away...but nice to see her handle these types of situations so well...or to convince mom that she is...:) Prayers were lifted up believe me...

Hope everyone is safe and dry...

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED ........

.........the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because, WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day, and we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computer, no Internet or chat rooms.......

WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them CONGRATULATIONS!

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:

'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms, tea ring up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

Three Ladies in a Sauna

THREE WOMEN, TWO YOUNGER, AND ONE SENIOR CITIZEN, WERE SITTING NAKED IN A SAUNA. SUDDENLY THERE WAS A BEEPING SOUND. THE YOUNG WOMAN PRESSED HER FOREARM AND THE BEEP STOPPED. THE OTHERS LOOKED AT HER QUESTIONINGLY. 'THAT WAS MY PAGER,' SHE SAID. I HAVE A MICROCHIP UNDER THE SKIN OF MY ARM.

A FEW MINUTES LATER, A PHONE RANG. THE SECOND YOUNG WOMAN LIFTED HER PALM TO HER EAR. WHEN SHE FINISHED, SHE EXPLAINED, 'THAT WAS MY MOBILE PHONE. I HAVE A MICROCHIP IN MY HAND.'

THE OLDER WOMAN FELT VERY LOW -TECH. NOT TO BE OUT DONE, SHE DECIDED SHE HAD TO DO SOMETHING JUST AS IMPRESSIVE. SHE STEPPED OUT OF THE SAUNA AND WENT TO THE BATHROOM. SHE RETURNED WITH A PIECE OF TOILET PAPER HANGING FROM HER REAR END.

THE OTHERS RAISED THEIR EYEBROWS AND STARED AT HER. THE OLDER WOMAN FINALLY SAID .........WELL, WILL YOU LOOK AT THAT....I'M GETTING A FAX!!

Obama & Ayers...more than just neighbors.

The man who wants to live in the White House....and the man who wanted to bomb it.

An article in the Wall Street Journal today addresses once again the relationship between William Ayers and Obama.

Obama has described Ayers as “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” and has said it’s absurd to link him to the terrorist acts Ayers participated in during the 1960s, including planting bombs in the Pentagon. “And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense,” Obama has said.

But an old saying, "You are known by the company you keep" speaks loudly when it comes to Obama, or Sotero, which may be his true legal name. Over the last 20+ years, he has had relationships with Ayers, Louis Farrakhan, Pastor Wright, Antoin Rezko, Rashid Khalidi and more. People who have hurt America and its citizens, people who speak against the United States, and people who do not have America's best interests at heart, no matter how much they claim.

After 9/11, Ayers was quoted in the New York Times, saying, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” “Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon,” Ayers wrote in his memoirs, titled “Fugitive Days.” He said that he didn’t personally set the bombs, but his group planned the attack & set off the explosives. Isn't there a law that says if you're in a car wreck or involved in a robbery that causes a death, you are just as guilty as if you drive the car or pulled the trigger. Ayers...guilty as charged.

The company you keep, Obama, is coming home to hurt you just like those chickens that Wright spoke about. He seems to think that these relationships should not reflect on his personal values but they do, as they should. I have cautioned my children to choose their friends wisely because of the above statement. You are judged, sometimes wrongly, by the company you keep or by the people you hang around with. Obama must have thought that his conversations, associations, speeches, votes, his choices in life would not eventually come back to haunt his campaign. But that is exactly what is and will happen in the coming weeks.

This question has been asked by many people: How could a man running for the presidency of the United States possibly have anything to do with, or have anything but disdain for a man like Ayers who did what he has done to this country?

When is the media going to start asking Obama/Sotero the tough questions! Enough of the hopey/changey....
