A Father's Love....
A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'
The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to cmplete the marathon together.
Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.
One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes' too.
For those who didn't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile
(42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island .
Father and son went on to complete the race together.
(I suggest you get a kleenex before watching.....)

Obama.....The Movie
This year's presidential election is probably the most important one I have ever seen. I am a Republican and will vote for McCain whole heartily. I believe Senator McCain is the one candidate that believes in this country and ALL the citizens..not one more than the other. He will work to keep this country safe and secure as it has been since the devastation of 2001. McCain will work to unite the country, as presented by his past actions, unlike Obama. McCain said today that he wants to lift the ban on offshore drilling and allow those states involved to receive a larger share of the royalties, which would put more money into the shrinking budget. Drill Here, Drill Now...it's time.
It is my earnest plea that if you are voting democrat but are unsure of your vote, please do your research, as I have, on Obama. If you know of others, please encourage them also. Obama is not the person he is portraying to the country. He has very, VERY troubled associations with politicians & other people not only in this country but others. I believe that the truth will be coming out before the November election, we can only hope. I found this video online...if you find it troubling, then you know why this man should not be elected.

Maggie
This is Laura's kitty and she is so precious.
Pepper has been very jealous since the new kid in the house showed up. She's starting to come around...slowly.
School is out!!!
Time for relaxation, spending time with family & friends, finishing projects and getting this blog updated. I've been following the political scene and will post about that later. As I've said before I'm a Republican and seeing people falling for Obama & believing the media hype and totally ignoring his history & the people he has put his trust in up to 20 years & more is very disturbing. But later....

"Dumbing Down our Kids"
"Dumbing Down our Kids" by educator Charles Sykes is a list of things you did not learn in school. Feel free to share with those needing direction.
Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time..
Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

"Cinderelly"
I love this website, icanhascheezburger. It has the cutest and sometimes weirdest photos of cats and sometimes, as above, other animals. I particularly like this one because it reminds me of some of my favorite movies, like Cinderella, that I haven't seen in many years. Look at the mice above, you can just hear them singing that song, can't you? It makes me want to watch it again...along with Snow White, Aladdin and Beauty & the Beast. Just think about these movies and your own personal favorites...time for a movie marathon day with plenty of popcorn!
Laundry....I dun't have time for no stinkin' laundry...I'm watching Cinderella!!

Illegal Immigration
(Received this in an email. In the following editorial, "I/me" is the illegal, "You" is the citizen and "House" is the country.)
A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials in ages!!! It explains things better than all the baloney you hear on TV.
Her point:
Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.
Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests. Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, 'No! I like it here. It's better than my house. I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters:
You are Required to let me stay in your house.
You are Required to feed me.
You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan.
You are Required to educate my kids.
You are Required to provide other benefits to me & to my family.
(my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house ...And what a deal it is for me!!!
I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.
Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE so you can communicate with me.

Happy Birthday, Sis!!!
Today is my sister's birthday. She's......oh, it might be a secret to some but she's a year younger than me, so figure that out! She and her husband are out west on a week's vacation touring around Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone and trying not to get eaten by bears in the parking lot. She said she got a good photo of a juvenile dumpster diving. He was hungry after a long winter!
As we have grown older, we have gotten closer and I'm so happy about that. There's a special bond between sisters..I know there is with us. Now we fought like sisters when we were little. But we had good times too. We both remember giggling in our bed when our dad, thinking he was so funny tinkling these bells down the the hallway on Christmas Eve, and then laughing out loud once he got to his bedroom. Phyl and I had such a good laugh too and still to this day. And I still have those bells.
One of my favorite photos of us is to the left. We were in N. Georgia last month on vacation and had such a good time. This moment was on a walk in the woods and we just felt like being goofy and taking funny photos. What a fun time!
Thanks, sis, for good memories and being such a good friend to me. I love you dearly and always will.....:)
